EXPLORE KASHMIR TULIP GARDEN'S FASCINATING ASPECTS
A serene journey covering just 9 kilometers from Srinagar alongside the calming Dal Lake leads to the enchanting Indira Gandhi Tulip Garden.
Nestled in the gentle slopes of the mighty Zabarwan hills, this garden is embraced by a meticulously manicured green golf course in the north and the pristine Dal Lake gracefully caressing its entrance to the west. The adjacent Chashme Shahi and Pari Mahal complexes add an aura of antiquity and timeless regality to the Tulip Garden.
Stepping into this garden is like experiencing paradise in its purest form, with the eyes captivated by countless parallel rows of over a million multi-colored tulip flowers.
The garden boasts an array of red, orange, yellow, purple, and mauve tulips, along with a variety of multi-colored hybrid flowers. Nature has unleashed a riot of colors in the combinations of these hybrid blooms. Thus visiting Srinagar and exploring the beauty of Kashmir with Srinagar Tulip Garden Tour is a must.
Each flower exhibits unique shapes, from hemispherical turbans to elongated forms, with some featuring scattered petals and others displaying loose, upward-flowing petals and sepals resembling erupting flames.
Different hybrid varieties are cultivated in individual flower beds, each approximately 1 meter wide and 80 meters long.
Carved into seven terraces on a gently sloping ground, the Tulip Garden mesmerizes visitors with its multi-tiered floral displays.
A gentle ascent reveals delightful fruit trees along the garden's rim, their slender branches adorned with various colored buds and flowers. Against the backdrop of a dazzling blue sky, the abundant blossoms create a divine spectacle.
Further upslope, Pari Mahal overlooks the tulip scapes, reminiscent of an aging queen smilingly admiring her feminine progeny coming of age.
Descending, the eye follows the striped mosaic of tulips, a visually stunning display of compactly laid complementary and contrasting colored flowers that seemingly extend all the way to the shores of Dal Lake.
The lake itself features beautiful floating fountains.
Besides tulips, the garden cultivates other bulbous plants, including Hyacinths, Narcissus, Daffodils, Muscaria, and Iris.
A tulip flower, approximately 6 cm long, exhibits a steep tapering apex and a gradual curvaceous base. With three petals and three sepals closely huddled, each flower resembles a half-opened bud with a diameter of 4-6 cm. Typically, one flower grows per plant, which stands at a height of 1-2 feet. It is said that the famous saint of Kashmir Sheikh ul Aalam Sheikh Noor din Noorani has prayed here, and once when he was in search of water in the meadows to offer prayers, he pricked the ground with his stick to search water, and milk came out, he asked the milk that you can only be used for drinking and not performing ablution. Hearing this milk at once changed its state to water and the meadow got its name DOODHPATHRI. The water which is at present flowing through the meadows looks like milk from a distance and remains very cold throughout the year. The lush green grasses over the vast meadows and silver shining stream running over the large stones further increase its beauty. Doodhpathri is sloping grassy landscapes with a diversity of multicoloured flowers up to Chang. The natural meadows, which are covered with snow in winter, allow the growth of wild flowers such as daisies, forget-me-nots and butter cups during spring and summer. Return by the evening to Srinagar. Overnight stay at Srinagar Hotel.
DAY 7 : SRINAGAR – SONMARG – SRINAGAR [87 KMS – 2 TO 3 HRS ONE WAY]
After an early breakfast, check out from Hotel & leave for a full day excursion to Sonmarg, which means Meadow of Gold, has its backdrop of snowy mountains against the blue sky. The drive offers incredible scenic beauty, dense pine forests and Gigantics Mountains. The place provides an ideal base for various trekking routes, high mountain lakes, glaciers, and Shri Amarnath Holy cave. The river meanders along here & abounds with Trout & Mahseer. Sonamarg’s importance lies in the fact that it is the last halt on the Kashmir side for the drive from Srinagar to Leh. Ponies / vehicles (direct payment basis) can be hired for the trip up to Thajiwas Glacier, Which is a major local attraction during the summer. Return back in the evening to Srinagar for Overnight stay at Hotel.

We wholeheartedly thank Mr. Rajkumar, our trip planer and Mr. Manas, our trip co-ordinator for their great planning and support, making this trip truly memorable and enjoyable. Foods and hotels were excellent. Even the arrangements made at an offbeat location like Gurez is noteworthy. We thoroughly enjoyed the services of Nature Wings and will eagerly recommend them to the prospective travellers.

NatureWings M.D. Mr. Sandip Raha, with his expert knowledge, arranged my Kashmir Trip from Mumbai with the best hotels in picturesque locations like Gulmarg and Pahalgam while providing a Houseboat in Srinagar for the first 3 nights and a hotel for the last 1 night. The hotels were decent and had a nice view from the rooms with good services, but we enjoyed more while staying in the Houseboat and it was like pampering our-self in the lap of pristine nature all away from the busy cities. We went to some lesser-known extraordinary locations of Kashmir like Doodhpathri, Bangus Valley, Lolab Valley, and Baisaran Valley as recommended by Mr. Raha, and enjoyed the Gondola Ride both the phase. Thanks to the NatureWings team for organizing our trip and specifically for suggesting a Houseboat stay.

We had a great holiday in Kashmir, all thanks to Mr. Sandip for his perfect arrangements; from pick up, drop, ski equipment, care coordination, and hotel bookings all was well managed. The Shikara ride on the Dal Lake was magical and with a suggestion from Mr. Sandip I tried out few authentic Kashmiri foods from the local shops which added more flavor to my trip. I have already recommended NatureWings to my family and friends for Kashmir Trip, and wish to explore other parts of India with them too.

Our trip to the Paradise on Earth from Ahmadabad was best accompanied by Houseboat stay at Srinagar, which had amazing service towards their guest with a mesmerizing view of the Lake, mountains, and Mughal gardens from the balcony. We had great privacy and full peace of mind while staying for 3 nights at the Houseboat and our Hotel stay at Gulmarg and Pahalgam too matched our expectations while the destination left us spellbound. If you wish to visit this State, do choose Kashmir Trip with Houseboat Package from NatureWings for a worthwhile experience.

Spent a weekend in Kashmir booked through NatureWings. My father booked the Kashmir Tour Package from Naturewings through email. Thanks to Mr. Raha for making our Kashmir trip really memorable. Kashmir is the best place for skiing. Very professional organization. Just back to Bangalore. Now we miss Kashmir.

We had an awesome Kashmir Tour this September. Had only four days. But thanks to meticulous planning and effort of the staff at NatureWings, we could cover Pahelgam, Gulmarg and Srinagar fairly well. We landed on the day of election in Srinagar. But team NatureWings took all care. Was very very lucky to make it to both Gulmarg Phase II and Tulip Garden. Gulmarg is simply out of the world. Dal lake Shikara Ride was so relaxing. Kids loved the Houseboat stay the most. At the end wished just life could just go on like this - family, friends and fun.

We booked a Kashmir Trip with Houseboat Package from NatureWings and matching our preference Mr. Sandip Raha provided our stay on the Dal Lake. The location of the Houseboat was excellent, and the rooms were beautiful with lovely Kashmiri decorations and a good view of the busy Srinagar city. Once we landed at the Houseboat, we were overwhelmed with the warm welcome we received from them, and the best part was sitting on the deck and capturing the calm sunrise and sunset while sipping on hot Kahwa. Our 4 nights stay at the Srinagar Houseboat was a memorable one, and we didn’t book any hotel at this place and opted for these unique stay arrangements.

We were in a group of 2 families with 4 adults and 2 kids. We stayed in "Heaven on Earth" this summer. Had a marvelous experience with Naturewings. The guides and drivers were very courteous. Picked us up from Srinagar Airport. There was curfew in the city, but tourists vehicles were allowed to go without any trouble. The drivers worked hard to find out a good restaurant for lunch. Reached Pahalgam in the evening. Next day, visited the beautiful Chandanwadi and Betaab Valley and then shifted to Gulmarg. On the 3rd day, went upto the 2nd phase of Gondola. Unless you go this place, you will not believe that such heaven exists on the earth. Weather God was kind enough during the entire trip. Breath-taking view from 4200 mts, all Whites. Imtiyaz was a great guide at Gulmarg. After coming back to phase 1, had lunch on restaurant on the snow. First time, experienced skiing, sledge, snow mobiles. It was an experience which we can never forget. Shifted to beautiful Srinagar in the evening and stayed in Super-Deluxe Monalisa House Boat. Again, that was an experience. Had Shikara Ride with lot of mouth-watering foods. Next day visited all the gardens. Overall, it was a great experience. A big big thanks to the team of NatureWings.

I had visited Kashmir with Vaishno Devi and it was a very nice experience. The hotels provided to us was really great to stay. The sightseeing was exactly what was sent to me in the itinerary. The guide was just excellent. In short the trip was more than what we had expected. We would love to go with NatureWings in future.

We usually love to stay in fancy hotels but while booking our Kashmir Tour Package from Mumbai, Mr. Sandip recommended us book at least one night in the Houseboat, and trusting him we said YES, but when we checked in and got our beautiful room with such a nice décor and amazing views of the mountains and Dal Lake in one frame we knew it was the best decision made. The royal treatment with mouthwatering Kashmiri delicacies was excellent, and if we plan for a second Kashmir Trip, we would again choose a Houseboat for our stay but more nights.
