WHICH ARE THE BEST PLACES OF ATTRACTIONS IN DELHI?
The national capital of this lovely country, Delhi, resembles a miniature India for all the right reasons. Modern-day Delhi, is divided into two worlds: New Delhi and Old Delhi. Delhi has been the country's strategic and cultural hub from the period of the Mahabharata (Hastinapur, which is very close to Delhi). For ages, as the centre of attentions, Delhi has been subjected to invasions by foreign entities - from Alexanda to Shak, Huns, Pathans, Mughals, and eventually the British, who controlled India from Delhi for more than centuries. As a result, Delhi is more than just India's capital, it also represents the country as a whole in miniature form.
Delhi has a wealth of historical significance that should be explored and travelled. Now, visiting and seeing Delhi is more than just about history, it's also about modern architecture and geopolitical significance. Delhi is the modern-day Troy. Its history is as old as the Yamuna River, one of Hinduism's most sacred rivers. Delhi is also recognized for its great cuisine, which features dishes from all over India. With numerous bazaars and markets, including Chandni Chowk - India's most famous commercial district, Delhi is also a shopper's paradise. From monuments, museums, and shrines to modern-day facilities, amenities, and entertainment, Delhi has a diverse range of tourist attractions. Exploring the city is like being roaming to a miniature version of India.
As mentioned, Delhi has lots of UNESCO Heritage site to explore like - India Gate, Qutub Minar, Lodi Gardens, Humayun's Tomb, The Lotus Temple, ISKCON Temple, The Red Fort, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Mughal Gardens, Jantar Mantar, Akshardham Temple, Jama Masjid, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, Chandni Chowk, Purana Qila, Mehrauli Archaeological Park, Gandhi Smriti and the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial, The Jantar Mantar Observatory, The Indira Gandhi Memorial Museum, The National Museum, New Delhi, Laxminarayan Temple, National Zoological Park, The National Crafts Museum, The National Rail Museum, The Hauz Khas Complex etc. So come to Delhi, explore Delhi – "Dilwalo Ka Shahar".
HOW TO REACH LADAKH FROM DELHI?
Ladakh is a dream destination for any traveler whether from India or from abroad. Every year millions of travelers from every corner of the world visit this mesmerizing destination either by Ladakh tour from Manali by Car or Leh Ladakh bike trip from Manali or by Ladakh tour from Delhi Airport with Delhi-Leh Direct Flight. By road Ladakh can be reached from two directions – 1. from Delhi via Srinagar and 2. from Delhi via Manali. Following are the options you can opt based on your choice:
OPTION 1 : LADAKH TOUR WITH DELHI - LEH DIRECT FLIGHT
Every day, around 29 flights leave from Indira Gandhi International Airport to go to Leh. These flights usually start in the morning around 6:45 am and the last one leaves around 11 pm. Make sure you check which terminal you need to go to for your flight. If you're flying directly from Delhi or from another city with a connecting flight, go to terminal 2 to check in.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
- When you go to Ladakh, by booking Ladakh tour package from Delhi, be careful about altitude sickness. Leh is really high up, about 3500 meters above sea level. Going from sea level to that high in just 1 hour can make you sick. But if you're careful and plan ahead, you should be okay.
- When you're at Delhi airport, drink plenty of water, about 2 to 3 litters, to stay hydrated. When you get to Leh, take it easy, don't rush or do anything too tiring.
- It's a good idea to bring some Diamox with you. It helps with altitude sickness symptoms like headaches, feeling tired, being sick to your stomach, feeling dizzy, or having trouble breathing.
- If you're traveling with a Ladakh tour company from Delhi, they'll pick you up from Leh Airport. If not, you can easily get a taxi to take you to your hotel in Leh.
- If you want to see the best views of the Himalayas, try to get a window seat on the right side of the plane. From flight you can take a clear picture of Tso Moriri Lake if you take right side window seat during Delhi - Leh travel with direct flight.
- Remember, Leh Airport is managed by the Indian Armed Forces because it's close to the borders with China and Pakistan. So, don't take any pictures there.

Thiksey is especially noteworthy for its gigantic seated statue of the Maitreya and is also known for its (Dukhang) assembly hall which houses hundreds of rectangular prayer books, stacked between wooden covers and bound in silk.
Shey Monastery - the former summer palace of the King of Ladakh. The Shey Monastery or Gompa and the Shey Palace complex are structures located on a hillock in Shey, 15 kilometres to the south of Leh in Ladakh, northern India on the Leh-Manali road. Shey was the old capital of the upper Ladakh region. When the Dogras of Jammu invaded Ladakh in 1842, the Namgyals abandoned the palace and fled to Stok (they made it their permanent residence) on the opposite side of the Indus River. It is conjectured that the fort found in ruins, not dated, above the present palace at Shey, belonged to this period of invasion. Subsequently, when the political dictates necessitated shifting of the capital to Leh, even then the importance of Shey continued since it was a mandatory requirement of the Namgyal kings to father their heir apparent here.
3 Idiot School - This school is also known as "The Druk White Lotus School" located in Shey, Ladakh, in northern India, and is known locally as the "Druk Padma Karpo School". Karpo means White and Padma means Lotus in the local language Bodhi. The school got its name 3 idiot school after the famous Indian actor Mr. Amir Khan cast his memorable movie 3 idiots here. Post lunch you may visit :
Leh Palace - Leh Palace is a former royal palace overlooking the town of Leh, Ladakh, in the Indian Himalayas. This palace was constructed circa 1600 by Sengge Namgyal. The palace was abandoned when Dogra forces took control of Ladakh in the mid-19th century and forced the royal family to move to Stok Palace. It is nine storeys high, the upper floors accommodated the royal family, while the lower floors held stables and store rooms. Much of the palace is in deteriorated condition, and little survives of its interior decorations. The Palace Museum holds a rich collection of jewellery, ornaments, ceremonial dresses and crowns. Chinese thangka or paintings, which are more than 450 years old, with intricate designs still retain the bright colors derived from crushed and powdered gems and stones. Structures around the palace's base include the prominent Namgyal Stupa, the colourfully muralled Chandazik Gompa and the 1430 Chamba Lhakhang, with medieval mural fragments located between the inner and outer walls. The palace is being restored by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), this palace is open to the public and the roof provides panoramic views of Leh and the surrounding areas.

LADAKH - 3 IDIOTS AND A LAKE
In your Ladakh Package Tour From Delhi you will see that ladakh has the exceptional beauty for which one falls in love with this amazing place specially with Pangong Lake or Pangong Tso. Pangong Lake or "Hollow Lake" is one of the largest salt water lakes in Asia extending from India to Tibet, having an altitude of 14,000 feet and an area of 604 sq. km. The ideal lake has grabbed the imagination of many film makers such as Mani Ratnam, Rajkumar Hirani & Vipul Amrutlal Shah. From "Dil Se" of Mani Ratnam to "3 idiots" of Rajkumar Hirani to few scenes of "Jab Tak He Jaan" & "Sanam Re" - Pangong Lake has been an important part of many film moments in the past years.
The blockbuster movie 3 idiots released in 2009 were filmed in the beautiful location at the Pangong Lake of Ladakh. In the climax scene Kareena Kapoor dressed in bright red bridal saree, was riding a retro yellow coloured scooter down the narrow strip of white sand, surprising her estranged lover, Aamir Khan. They reunite. Aamir Khan also reunites with his college mates. Around them was sparkling blue green water's lap a sweep of frosted mountain.
One would get to see this heavenly beauty through booking Leh Ladakh Package Tour from Delhi from NatureWings. Tourist would get to see the setting of 3 idiots' final scene at the "shooting point" where families click selfies in the late afternoon haze. The tourist can find there a half dozen restaurant named Rancho café & 3 idiot café found near the shooting point which enhances the essence of Ladakh Tour. Near the turquoise water, tourists can climb atop a mustard-yellow scooter; pose a photo just to like Kareena Kapoor.
After 3 Idiots hit theatres, Pangong - the glistening, turquoise 125 km lake that served as backdrop for 3 Idiots' rising conclusion – rose to unprecedented popularity. Having given enough travel goals to the Ladakh lovers, tourists from all over the word started crowding Ladakh like never before. So, without thinking much one must visit this mesmerizing and breath-taking place through Ladakh package tour from Delhi to experience the inundated beauty.
PANGONG LAKE - THE ALLURE OF NATURE :
This 8N/9D Ladakh Tour from Delhi includes the most famous and sparkling Pangong Lake which is situated in Changthang region near Leh-Ladakh (5 hours drive from Leh) in the Himalayas, at a height of approximately 4,350 m above the sea level. The beautiful multi-shaded ocean like lake is 134 km (83 mi) long and extends from India to the Tibetan Autonomous Region of China with 60% coverage in Tibet. The Pangong Lake is almost 5 km wide at its broadest point. All together it covers 604 sq. km.
The word Pangong is derived from a Tibetan word "Banggong Co" which means "long, narrow, enchanted lake". Pangong Lake in Ladakh is the world's highest brackish lake at 14,256 feet above the sea level. In winter the lake freezes completely, despite being saline water. The Brackish water lake does not support vegetation or aquatic life, despite you can spot many water birds as well as migratory birds like Brahmani Ducks, Rare black necked cranes and Seagulls during summer. One can also spot Ladakhi Marmots, a rodent-like creature during Ladakh package tour with Pangong Lake.
A unique feature of this Lake is that it does not remain blue throughout the year or even the day, rather it changes colors with the weather condition. The water sparkles in distinct shades of blue, green, purple, and violet, being transparent to a good depth, stand in stark contrast to the arid mountains surrounding it. Though boating is prohibited here, but Camping at Pangong Lake can be an enthralling experience.
Pangong Lake has emerged as one of the most desired places to visit especially after the movie-shoots of Bollywood blockbusters "3 idiots" and "Jab Tak Hai Jaan". From the very first day of communication a thoroughly professional approach, keeping the best interests and the needs of the customer in mind at all times was their point of concern. All the arrangements were good & value for money, and the process of procuring permits and other formalities was seamless and smooth. The hotels and food were good, and even arrangements were made for vegetarian food as well. Overall, an excellent memorable experience. Kudos Team - NatureWings.
